2. it’s also known as glitter rock (called glitter in the honour of Gary Glitter,an imp0rtant glam rock singer)
3. it appeared in the UK and it’s best time was between 1971-1974
4. its appearance was a consequence of the division of psychedelic rock into different styles
5. it was mixed with the best Pop from the ’60s
6. Glam rock has provocative lyrics, often with sexual reference
7. Glam rock singers dressed themselves in clothes with leopard printing, top hats, shining suits and often wore high-heeled boots and lots of make up
8. to used to play with sexual ambiguity and to show off a provocative attitude

There are other subgenres of Glam-rock:

1. Genius of Glam-this Glam gives satisfaction and profundity in the music and the lyrics; a lot of artists adopted this philosophy and sound. The Velvet Underground was the first group to adopt this style.
2. Shock Rock- was born in the USA and it’s a combination between Hard Rock and Glam; it was created by Alice Cooper
3. Opera Glam-mixes opera rock and opera glam , which had the same characteristics and were both popular at the same time
4. Others: Elton John, known for his eccentric image (he is considered to be “Fake Glam”)

Influences in the ’80s:

1. The Pop and the Rock in this decade had a heritance form Glam
2. lots of artists from Spain became part of the “Movida Madrileña”
3. it the ’80s it’s no longer called “Glam Rock”, but Glam Metal
4. the most important bands were: Bon Jovi, Kiss, Aerosmith, Twisted Sister
