The Sex Pistols were very problematic and that made that they became more famous (they were banned in the whole England). Sex Pistols rised of the group the Strands (formed by Paul Cook, Steve Jones and Wally Nighttingale).

They were hired and released in many record labels (like EMI, A&M Records and Virgin) because their behaviour and the lyrics of their songs was bad, obscene and vulgar. They were doing that for a while. For example when they were with Virgin Records, in the final of  the 77 year they launched Never Mind The Bollocks. Together was against and the LP was censored, but finally the Sex Pistols won.

In the January of the 1978 they made a tour in the EUA and they split up because Johnny Rotten left the group.

Sid  Vicious tried to do music own his own. But died because his girlfriend Nancy Spungen was a drug addict. Vicious agree with the sentence “live fast die young” like her and he became drug addict too. That’s the reason why he died. Nancy died before and he was considered the criminal. He stayed in the prison and when he had the conditional liberty died.

In 1996 there was the return of the Sex Pistols without Sid. They wanted to earn money. They have sung in more music festivals until now.

COMENT

We think that the lyrics are exaggerated, however, there is a part of truth. The rhythm is catchy and the singer sings in a funny way.

1. The use of distorsionated noisy guitars with a loud sound.

2. The fast rhythm, beat and simple melodies. Normally, the songs are of short duration

3. The violent voice of the singer which usually starts to shout in the middle of the song.

The punk style was divided in more musical styles, but principally, it becomes of  the garage rock: Hardcore punk, Psychobilly, Pop-punk, Anarco-punk…

The word “punk” has a despective meaning like rubbish, lazy and slag.

The punk rised of the people which were angry or unhappy with the society. They thought that the society and its structure was all a lie only for win money. They were contrary to the cultural opression, the moral and the things that were considerated correct. They wanted to break the rules.

Later, the punk became a style of life and ideology, with its own aesthetics (althought it wasn’t considerated the most important). The punk ideology is related to the anarchy (no government and laws neither) and the antifascism. Their slogan was “there’s no future” because they thought that with that society there wasn’t progress.

They used to had long, high and colourful peaks in the hair. The clothes were colourful too, specially the trousers which were checkered. They wear black leather jackets with spikes, belt with spikes too and boots with edge of iron. They wear piercings and tatoos.

Actually the punk musical groups are more comercial than before, but the normal punk people wear the same clothes than in then, moreover the ideology is the same too. They all are very rebels.

We think that this song is about a war and its human consequences.

• Ramones was a punk band formed in Forest Hills in 1974.
• It was created the base of  the style, composition simple and without sense.
• this band was very important in the history of rock.
• The name of Ramones was invented for Douglas.
• The 2nd February of 1976, Ramones recorded their first album.
• Look: Ramones wore leather jackets, jeans, trainers, T-shirts and long hair.
• Logo: The logotype of this band was created by Arture Vega. The logo of the president of the U.S.A. would be perfect for the Ramones, with an eagle holding some arrows, to symbolize the strength  and the agression and olive tree branch.

• Punk is a musical style. It emerged in 1970. It was caracterized for its independent acttitude. It was a easy music and sometimes untidy. The melodies were simple and shorts. The most used instruments were guitars and noisy instrument.
